Artefacts From the Unconscious, 2019
Memories are artefacts, deep-seated in our mindscapes, covered in the dust of time.
Whenever we prefer to look at them we project our unconscious phenomena over and over.
"Artefacts from the Unconsious", Mixed Media, Projection Mapping Installation
170 cm x 245 cm
Duration: 33 sec (endless loop)
Inspired by Freud’s Unconsciousness Theory and Archaeological Metaphor, this work is an attempt to materialise the layers of consciousness concentrating on three childhood memories and their unconscious reflections; using archaeological reconstruction, psychoanalytic theory and surrealist automatism.
All the sculptures are made with bri-collage technics and covered in different materials with abstracted levels of meanings; paper, plaster, stone spray from left to right. The projection mapping patterns are created from automatic drawings made by me investigating the opportunity to communicate with my unconscious mind.
